Adam Hughes - Off to England (2005)

Adam Hughes, 2004 Illawarra Player of the Year, 2005 Wollongong Wolves and Balgownie Rangers player has headed off to England and has signed a 6 month contract with Doncaster Rovers who are playing in the English League 1.

Wearing the number 16 shirt, he scored his first goal for the Rovers in Round 1 of the Carling Cup in the 1-0 victory over Wrexham.

UPDATE (2008): Adam Hughes has since been transferred to Sligo Rovers in Ireland, and now currently playing for Drogheda United in the Irish League.

Illawarra Mercury 22nd Mar 2004 - Des Giraldi, Justin Pasfield & Adam Hughes

Des Giraldi who recently signed for Balgownie, is heading to Italy to sign a contract with Empoli, while Justin Pasfield, currently in the u20's Australian team will head to England to trial with Everton FC in April.

Adam Hughes, one of Balgownie's biggest signings this season, played for Wolllongong Wolves in the NSL in the 2003-2004 season. All three spent time together with the Wolves and the AIS over the past few years.

Matt Gordon played brilliantly in the Local Derby win against Tarrawanna, scoring a great goal from a very tight angle.

That was his 6th goal of the season in 7 games. He has also scored a goal in every game of the last 4 games that he has played.
