Goal: A Lo Surdo

On paper this looked like a very evenly contested match which the score line proved, Even though I thought we handed them 2 points. This was a game we should have taken maximum points. But instead we have to share the points with a team I don’t think deserved points on the day.

Both teams started of a bit slow but we got the upper hand and had most of the possession and chances in the last 20 mins of the first half. A great goal to Alison gave us a 1 nil lead at half time.

We should have started the second half just as we finished the first but that wasn’t to be. I have to say it was one of our worst 45 mins this year. The only thing we can take away from that half of football was our defence which worked hard to keep the score line at just one.

Lets hope we all learn from this result. We need to be switched on for the whole 90 mins too be assured of these points which are so valuable.

DOUBLE DENIM Night at Bally Hotel

DOUBLE DENIM Night at Bally Hotel

A successful evening was held last night at the Magpies Nest upstairs at Bally Hotel. Approximately 90 people attended this function, which helped raise over $300 for Bally Hotel’s Ashley Davis who is participating in the Leukaemia Foundation’s U.G.L.Y. (Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You) Bartender of the Year, where money is raised via different functions/activities, such as Double Denim. A lot of fun was had as can be observed by the pictures below. The B.R.F.C. Committee would like to thank everyone in attendance and to Bally Hotel for their assistance.

Josh has been supported well up front by Alan Costabile whos contribution is 3 goals.

Glen Smede has also chipped in with 4 goals and leads the race for Peoplecare Distict League MVP, ontop of the 3-2-1 voting table with 8 votes. Towering centre-back Matthew Clark score a hat-trick at Kemblawarra on Saturday to take his impressive record to 4 goals this season.

In the Peoplecare Youth League, Balgownie have lost 5 games on the trot, but have only conceded 9 goals. The 3 goals they have scored have came off the boots of Angus Lanyon, Mitch Stewart and a penalty from overage player Michael Brown.
